Our Book

So, we've started reading Advice to Young Artists in a Postmodern Era. I have to say that I have read some interesting points. They argue that intelligence is not one-dimensional. I think this is a valid point. As my husband tells me, he is not "book smart" like I am. I tell him that he is smarter than I am in a lot of other areas. We have our own measures of intelligence.
They also discuss the differences in knowledge and understanding. "Work beyond your understanding," is a piece of advice they give to artists. Using problem finding instead of problem solving helps us go one step further in our understanding.

So Vaughn had us take a mug shot and then mess with it in Photoshop. He had us split our face in half and flip one side to the other to see how symetrical our faces were.
Of course, my horns showed through!
